Mon, 15 Dec 2008 02:52:00 -0800 14December2008: AdgateWorld Update - AdGate Advisor "If it ain't broke why are they changing it?" http://faithsloan.posterous.com/14devember2008-adgateworld-upd http://faithsloan.posterous.com/14devember2008-adgateworld-upd

AdGate Advisor
"If it ain't broke why are they changing it?"

Good morning,
We are making tremendous progress and hope to open the doors to the
AdGateWorls site early in January. Today's topic though is on the fledgling
industry of social advertising. Let's get caught up: When first introduced
to this model it was obvious that it was a completely different animal.
Giving an incentive to advertisers that also doubled as consumers was way
outside the 'box'. When you spent the time understanding the premise it
actually made sense. These early attempts borrowed heavilly from the online
high yield investment program community and therefore had no long term hope
of survivial. Until a real sustainable rebate formula could be configured
this business/advertising concept was no different then any other 'E-Gold
game'.

This changed overnight when a model that tied a advertiser/member rebate
directly to the corporate advertising revenue was used. It became a
symbiotic relationship that actually worked. The sheer beauty of giving
each advertiser/member, a real stake in introducing others to the community
helps to maintain and grow the overall daily revenues and stability. The
formula was quite simple and efficient. A large portion of the daily
revenues are shared with members that had active advertising AND had
qualified by viewing a specific number of other member ads. This rebate
program would give each member the ability to recieve ALL advertising
dollars back and potentially provide 25% profit for being a viewer. This
original model (also used by AdGate's system), gives each advertiser a real
cost effective advertising vehicle AND rewards this person with targeted
traffic (using our categorized/localized viewing system).

The second, OPTIONAL, revenue stream allows these same advertisers to
receive a commission on the advertising sales of those members that were
sponsored by existing advertisers. This strictly OPTIONAL addition to the
formula DOES NOT preclude the 'advertising ONLY' member from taking part in
the daily rebates. Thousands of people have proven this exact model does
work and is sustainable. Like any other business it would fail if no one
ever wanted to purchase the product being sold.....advertising. With
internet advertising revenues sky rocketing (even in such tough time) this
would appear to be the type of industry we should ALL want to take shelter
in.

The AdGate development team believes in the this model and decided to
evolve the concept by adding benefits and future applications that will
enhance each members experience. However, the actual rebate formula DID NOT
need to change. Several companies are now emerging that 'claim' to be
offering similar social advertising opportunities.

On a closer examination you will find that most of them are not even
remotely similar from a math perspective. The risk to your funds is
substantially higher. Some of the 'fine print' changes to be aware of:

1) Some of these sites have taken the 'optional' recruiting component and
now enforce it in some type of mandatory qualifier that brings the social
advertising concept back into a full MLM style program. Why would any
developer borrow from a model that results in complete failure for over 98%
of its participants? The answer is simple. Pure greed. How much ADDITIONAL
money will be left over when members do not reach these lofty recruiting
levels?
2) Even more disturbing is the change in the rebate/commission formula
that is being touted by these sites. The very nature of the original idea
was to provide a 'cost effective' advertising tool that also offered a
profit for viewing other advertisements. When reviewing these sites and
programs two things are crystal clear. The creators have either placed a
huge qualifying burden on the member (dollar spent/recruiting) OR they have
blatantly 'tweaked' the expiration of rebate benefits. Daily rebates are
always based on the unknown (vairiable) revenue generated daily. If this is
the case how can the rebates simply stop on a specific day (whether it is
day fifty or 360)? The member risk factor here is enormous and the change
GREATLY benefits the program developers ONLY. Even worse is another trick
we have seen recently. One'new' company pays daily rebates up to 100% of
advertising dollars and then gives a 25% bonus in AD PACKS. Do the math and
look at how long a person would have to wait to even see any REAL MONEY
benefit with this program. This would be bad enough if it wasn't for the
huge qualifers to even receive the 25% in ad packs!!
3) Last but certainly not least is the business model that 'claims' to be
able to operate corporately within the United States by providing web
hosting services. This is by far the most irresponsible action and shows a
comple disregard for the safety, privacy and security of the advertisers.

The real point of this little discussion is that all social advertising
models are NOT created equal. Please ask yourself the following questions
before spending any hard earned funds:

1) Why does the program place substantial qualifiers on recieving a rebate
beyond viewing other ads?
2) Is there a chance that my ad packs could expire before a reasonable
amount of my advertising dollars have been returned?
3) Is the program simply setting you up in a glorified MLM scheme that
REQUIRES you to recruit and maintain certain levels of membership and
forced advertising spends monthly?

The real disturbing part about some of these programs is that they are run
by people that have always stated that the original formula and math were a
thing of beauty. You have to wonder why they decided to change it so
drastically. Maybe they think people are so desperate that they will not
notice.

We have far more respect for our members and friends. Greed does funny
things to people. We believe that 'stacking the deck' against ANY member is
not necessary to succeed. Please forward this to anyone that may get caught
in the trap.
Best Regards,
AdGate Team

Sat, 11 Oct 2008 09:34:30 -0700 The Shameful A"Bomb"ination Spewing From Some McCain's Supporters http://faithsloan.posterous.com/the-shameful-abombination-spew http://faithsloan.posterous.com/the-shameful-abombination-spew

Things are heating up on the campaign front. The McCain office has ads out right now and Palin, too in terms of Obama's past ties with a former political activist/radical turned educator, William Ayers.

In my opinion and from my observations, this does nothing but fuel the fodder of the hate mongers. The accusations are now freely flowing with McCain's supporters denouncing Obama as an 'Arab,' a 'Muslim' , a 'terrorist', a 'terrorist sympathizer', one who doesn't 'support the troops', a 'socialist', an 'enemy of the state' 'THAT ONE', and calling for the death of Obama. This is not only bad for the campaign but is really scarey in what it can do to the United States

What is wrong with people. I don't believe McCain supports this type of venemous diatribe but it is unfortunate that the "racist ones" who are bitter and frightened are now coming to the forefront. Should we fear for Obama's life?

Stay tuned for the Reverend Wright noise coming soon from a Republican rally near you. Pastor Hagee's violent rhetoric is much worst than Reverend Wright's. But I say, how many of you agree with your pastor, your friends, etc assertions and opinions?

"Sarah Palin briefly arrested the collapse of John McCain's odds of winning the presidency with her performance in the debate last night: By this morning, McCain's odds on Intrade had upticked from 33% to 33.8%.

Alas, the Palin effect quickly wore off, and by the end of the day, McCain's odds had plummeted to a new post-convention low: 30%.  McCain has now lost 18 points in the past 18 days."

"AS THE financial crisis pushes the economy back to the top of voters’ concerns, Barack Obama is starting to open up a clear lead over John McCain in the opinion polls. But among those who study economics for a living, Mr Obama’s lead is much more commanding. A survey of academic economists by The Economist finds the majority—at times by overwhelming margins—believe Mr Obama has the superior economic plan, a firmer grasp of economics and will appoint better economic advisers."

Things that make you go hmmmm.....

"“I take McCain’s word on this one,” comments James Harrigan at the University of Virginia, a reference to Mr McCain’s infamous confession that he does not know as much about economics as he should."

Fri, 03 Oct 2008 20:38:08 -0700 Foreclosures: Did God Want You to Get That Mortgage? http://faithsloan.posterous.com/foreclosures-did-god-want-you http://faithsloan.posterous.com/foreclosures-did-god-want-you

"Although a type of Pentecostalism, Prosperity theology adds a distinctive layer of supernatural positive thinking. Adherents will reap rewards if they prove their faith to God by contributing heavily to their churches, remaining mentally and verbally upbeat and concentrating on divine promises of worldly bounty supposedly strewn throughout the Bible. Critics call it a thinly disguised pastor-enrichment scam. Other experts, like Walton, note that for all its faults, the theology can empower people who have been taught to see themselves as financially or even culturally useless to feel they are "worthy of having more and doing more and being more." In some cases the philosophy has matured with its practitioners, encouraging good financial habits and entrepreneurship.?

Boy oh boy oh boy!

I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ but there is something called commonsense, eh? This reminds me of those who sit on the couch all day during the week, attend church on Sunday to get their weekly 'hit', then pray that a miracle happens without any action from them. What an excuse for not doing good works and carrying your own weight.

Now, I will reserve myself in terms of speaking about those prosperity preachers who prey on those who feel so hopeless that they must grasp upon something -- anything -- no matter how predatory or destructive it may be -- guns or religion <lol>

I am blessed and I bless others particularly my mom and daughter. I am not blessed because I give loads of money to another man to have a mansion and preach to me in a crowd every Sunday.

I do truly believe that us tiny human beings aren't all 'IT' and that there is indeed intercession on our behalf. But I try and do things the right way and muck up on occasion. I went to college not because I wanted to be a professional. It had something to do with boredom and what I believe was the place for me at that time. I then went on to get my M.S. for professional reasons and then went from the 'projects' in Chicago to where I am today with many many bumps on the way. We all do do-do things but that is also what makes us unique. Our journeys are different but the end game in my opinion, is finite.

So folks who believe in the Lord, get REAL! Open your eyes. If you are paying $1200/mo for a mortgage and a financier approves your re-finance at $200/mo, that financier is up to something tomorrow so find your escape route QUICKLY! Or better yet, just say NO to frugs.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Congress has passed complex and highly criticized legislation authorizing $700 billion in government money to shore up the nation's stressed financial industry.

The 263-171 vote by the House sends the Senate-passed version to the White House for President Bush's signature. Among many features, the measure would allow the Treasury Department to buy up bad debt from various lending institutions.

Many members of the House voted for the bill even though some said it was not very attractive to them and to their constituents back home. The measure had been defeated in the same chamber on Monday, sending stocks on Wall Street into a record slide.

Announcement of the vote was greeted by applause.

I will succeed.

And of course, I will make my own societal and economic contributions with the blessings provided me.

I know there are many of you laughing right about now. But guess what? I won't reciprocate the laughter when I succeed. You too will be invited to share your talents with the business/social movement and I will always be willing to sit down and collaborate with you.

Now wasn't that a sneaky poker hand. While we were paying attention to the $700M bailout for the big whig Corporate denizens of the financial world, the guv'ment snuck one past us. (Wellll... not just 'one')

Also, did you know that last month:

""In the dark of night over the weekend when most people were snoozing, the Treasury dramatically expanded its bailout plan to include buying student loans, car loans, credit card debt and any other "troubled" assets held by banks.

The changes, which were included in draft language that also opened the bailout program to foreign banks with extensive loan operations in the United States, potentially added tens of billions of dollars to the cost of the program."

Why can't they simply go to the bank like the rest of us when they need a loan? Oh, I forgot... the bankers took the money and went home.

Bail out the U.S. citizens. The guv'ment write a check for $1.5million to every taxpayer in the country -- yes, you too. this would cost the guv'ment  $375million dollars which is a far cry from $700billion AND we do not own any of those nasty toxic assets.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the States... Can you just feel the economic impact here?

I'm ready to go shopping now, are you?

The greedy, inept, corporate mongers who have failed businesses will have to do what the average american taxpayer and small businesses have to do. Suck it up and file for bankruptcy.  The American worker would walk away with a golden parachute since they have $1.5million in their pockets less taxes, of course.

We would be pleased but there's something more here ... things are not as they may seem.

Do the math. Because my math is wrong. But if we were living like Alice in Wonderland, we could stimulate our economy IMMEDIATELY.

Oh well... we need to shut up and take the hit because we already received our stimulus checks for up to $1000 this year. Not so funny. Whose idea was that anyway? That was simply gas money for a few months or one month's apartment rent/mortgage.

They were afraid that if they gave me the database, we would somehow end up transferring our sites (we've paid them over a half million dollars for services rendered so far) and they would no longer have a cash cow in their pockets. Truly an asinine way of doing business, dontcha think? They will get kicked to the curb ...

In any case, I have a comma delimited file of all tables including the SQL code to re-generate the database.

What a terrible way of doing business... what a shame ... shame... shame ... shame ...
